Help My Cat

 Hi,
You probably don't know me, but my name is Todd and here is my story.

Today my wife, Samantha, came home from work and pulled into the driveway as
usual.  She honked her horn, as normal, to alert the cat, since he likes to sunbathe on
the driveway, and slowly pulled into the driveway.  Unfortunately she thought the cat
had moved, but apparently he didn't and she ran over him.  She ran into the house
freaking out because she thought she just ran over her cat, Loki, which has been with
  her for over 10 years.

Now Loki is a big, long haired black cat.  He is getting up there in age but hasn't
had any problems getting around.  He doesn't jump as high as he used to and
doesn't catch as many small animals as he used to, but I was sure he had a least
another 3-4 good years left in him.

I went outside to investigate thinking she was probably freaking out over nothing.
I found the cat under my car.  He made a few meows like he was in pain, but I did
not see any apparent injuries. He seemed reluctant to move, so I tried to feel his
legs to see if I could feel a break.  He didn't feel like co-operating but from what I
could tell it didn't seem like his legs were broken.  So we decided to
to rush to the nearest animal hospital and have a vet check him out.  I grabbed the
pet carrier and put a towel in it and picked up.  He struggled a little when I tried to
put him in the carrier, but he never liked be put in the carrier (probably because it
usually meant a trip to the vet).

We took him to the Animal Creek Animal Hospital and had him checked out.
Unfortunately, it wasn't good news.  He has 2 fractures in his hips, one being at
the joint.  The vet gave us a few options:

  1.  We could have him put down - He is getting along in age and it would cost
quite a bit to have the surgery to fix his pelvis.

  2.  Surgery - the other option is spend about $3000 for a specialist to operate and
       try to repair the damage

  3.  The third option was to give him some pain medication and anti-inflammatory
and give him a week and see if he starts to heal on his own.

Well, we weren't ready to let him go just yet.  He is a loved part of the family, but
we don't have the money to get his surgery.  So we choose the third option.  The
people at the animal clinic were nice and tried to reassure us that cats are
amazing healers and he might be ok.  My wife is kind of doubtful.  I am hoping for the
best.  If he does manage to heal up from this, I doubt he will get around as well as
he used to.  He will definitely be an inside cat after this.  No more going outside and
laying in the sun for Loki.

We are hoping for the best,  but expecting the worst.  In a week we will probably
have to make the decision whether to put him to sleep or have the surgery.  I would
really like to be able to afford the surgery.  Loki means alot to Samantha.  She had
him since before we were married and she blames herself for running over him and
is really tore up about this.

So, I am asking is for donations to help with the cost of Loki's surgery.
You can donate by clicking on the donate buttons on the page.  I am not asking for
much but if I can get a bunch of people to just donate $1 a piece I would be forever
  grateful.

Also, if you don't want just donate check back tomorrow.  I plan on putting up a
bunch of  ebooks on this page for incredibly low prices $2-$5 a piece with all
  proceeds going towards Loki.

I appreciate you thoughts and prayers, and I will keep you all updated.
